Chapter Seven

As Nyk’s sight slowly adjusted to the low lights overhead, he felt the throbbing in his shoulder. It wasn’t pain, per se, which meant someone had given him pain meds.

He turned his head to see Dax sitting in a nearby chair, covered in blood. At first Nyk thought the man had been wounded, until he noticed that they were in sickbay. That was Nyk’s blood all over Dax. His friend had once again come to Nyk’s rescue.
